Structural Reduction Therapeutic (SRT) Acucupuncture
I am very excited with this acupunctural technique taught by a well-known Taiwanese orthopaedist Dr. Liang Chuan Lin. I first took his class on his structural reduction therapeutic (SRT) hand technique back in 2015. Back then, my hands were not sensitive enough, I couldn’t feel the difference of body structure. After years of practice, my hands have become more and more sensitive. I had continuously took his classes online, but never really apply his teachings clinically on a regular basis.
Last month, I had the intensive hands on training with him and his assistants. I have a very different understanding of acupuncture and our human body. I decided to start applying his teachings clinically.
Yesterday I had a male patient who had sharp spasm pain from his right groin to his medial knee area for few weeks, and he couldn’t bend forward/downward to put his socks/shoes on. I did structural reduction acupuncture treatment to smooth his skin tension, musculoskeletal tension on his vertical axis. At the end of the treatment, he didn’t have any more pain, and was able to bend down to put sock and shoes on. I suggested him to schedule a follow-up treatment if it is needed. So I am very excited with this acupuncture technique.
With the traditional treatments, patients will need to have acupuncture treatments twice a week in the beginning and gradually move onto maintenance treatments.
